Manager of Infrastructure and security department explains how our application changed their way of working

We recently had a brief interview with the manager of the Department of Infrastructure and Security about the new application that we designed for the national electricity distributor. We have created an application that displays spatial data of their electrical distribution equipment with the goal of having a reliable digital representation of all their equipment. Our partner shared some of his thoughts on experience working with NAVA IT – please see below.

IN: How did you come in contact with Nava IT?

DB: We have extended our cooperation that started from the first project completed by NAVA IT, an asset management application for our primary equipment. Subsequently, we had the opportunity to exchange views and ideas about new projects for the current year. We have “clicked” right away, and continued our cooperation on both projects with new ones to come in the future.

IN: Why have you decided to do the application for 3D imaging of your equipment?

DB: There has been an obvious need to increase the quality of equipment management, which primarily means having a detailed insight in the actual situation on our sites that are geographically quite dislocated from each other. That insight is absolutely necessary as a base for planning for equipment reconstruction and maintenance. Since the implementation of the application designed for us by NAVA IT, we have noticed that this application saves us not just man hours, but also a considerable amount of money which would otherwise be spent on making numerous trips to the sites. This innovative concept has proven to be a fantastic step in the direction of increasing our efficiency and competitiveness on the market.

IN: Has Nava’s application made your business process easier?

DB: As a business unit of more than 50 employees, we have reduced the need to make as many field trips when information from the site is needed. In the long run, this will also make our maintenance and reconstruction job easier, as we have a much better overview of the situation in the field. There is an additional advantage: new employees training can be done in the application’s simulated environment with less need of going to the actual location. Another example of better resource management!

IN: What was your experience with NAVA IT?

DB: Personally I am extremely satisfied! NAVA IT is experienced in implementing complex applications which, in addition to technical support, requires consulting, documentation and staff training services. In my opinion, all off these components are critical to overall success of the project. As a relatively small company, NAVA IT is highly focused on a single client, establishing relations on a personal level, which is very rarely the case when we cooperate with large providers.

IN: Would you recommend NAVA IT to your partners or peers? 

DB: Absolutely! Besides their knowledge and experience, they provide absolute support throughout the duration of the project.
